Seminars
As part of its Phase 2 work, as per its Terms of Reference, the Inquiry has conducted a number of seminars with representatives responsible for safeguarding the security and dignity of the deceased. The Inquiry committed to sharing outputs from these seminars, to maintain visibility of its ongoing Phase 2 work, which is focused on looking at the broader national picture and the wider lessons for the NHS and for other settings.
Seminar on HTA Designated Individuals and their role in relation to the security and dignity of the deceased
In Autumn 2024, the Inquiry held a seminar with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) Designated Individuals from local authorities, NHS Trusts and medical education establishments, to understand their role in different settings and any challenges they face.

In Autumn 2024, the Inquiry also held a seminar to support the Inquiry to make findings relating to the adequacy of the current regulatory and oversight measures that are in place to safeguard the dignity and security of the deceased.
